Eight-year-old Avery Lampman was all smiles on Saturday as she sat in front of a big mirror at Grass Roots Salon in Renton to get her hair cut.

It was over a year ago that Avery and her mother Lori Vanderpost heard about the Wigs for Children program and the young girl decided to be part of that. Avery is in grade 3 at St. Cecilia’s Separate School in Port Dover.

Hair stylist Stacy McFarlane cut about 14 inches of Avery’s beautiful dark blond hair. It will be used to create a wig for an unknown child undergoing treatments for cancer. - Wednesday, February 10, 2010
