Ruth Dodd
DODD, Ruth (Powell). Passed away suddenly at Norfolk General Hospital on Thursday, February 15, 2007, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her father, George Powell and husband Douglas Bridgwater. Cherished wife of Robert Dodd. Loving mother of George and his wife Billie Bridgwater, Charlene and her husband Steve Cleland, Becky and her husband Peter Pow, Robbie and his wife Liz Dodd, Gerry and his wife Shelley Ray, Lori and her husband Rudy Ramai. Adoring grandmother of Ryan, Rory, Rikki, Chase, Colten, Dougie, Sydney, Blakie, Emerson, Hanna, Quinn and Ruby. Sadly missed by her mother Isabel Powell and sisters Patricia Smith, Judy and her husband Ted Brown, and Sheila and her husband Dave Chanda, and her many nieces and nephews. Ruth was born and raised in Port Dover and will be sorely missed by all those whose lives she touched in so many ways. She was a lifetime member of the U.C.W. and a very active member of Grace United Church. Friends and family visited Thompson Waters Funeral Home, 102 First Ave., Port Dover on Monday, February 19, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Service to Celebrate Ruth’s life was held at Grace United Church (Chapman and St. George Sts.) Port Dover at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2007. The Reverend Murray Rounding officiated. Interment Port Dover Cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association will be gratefully accepted.
Lambert, Eugene Edgar (Hugo)
Gene passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Rockyview Hospital on January 25, 2007 in Calgary, AB at the age of 64 years. Gene is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth Ann Lambert (Taylor) of Calgary AB; four children Terrie Balckman of Calgary AB, Cheryl Lambert of Winnipeg MB, Peggy King (Bernard La Blanc) of Calgary AB, and Wayne Lambert (Stephanie Kalmbach) of Calgary AB; six grandchildren, Cira, Jon Lisa (Cheryl), Brandi, Karr-Lynn (Peggy), and Austen (Wayne) a brother Frank Lambert (Donna) of Hagersville On; and a sister Doris Oldfield of Hamilton On. Predeceased by parents James and Stella Lambert and eight brothers and sisters. Eugene was laid to rest at the Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetary in Calgary AB on January 30, 2007 Gene’s 65th birthday! Happy Birthday Papa. Gene will be missed dearly by his family and friends. May he rest in peace. Love, his family.
Hugo Paelinck
PAELINCK – Mr. Hugo Paelinck of R.R. #1, Windham Centre passed away at his home on Saturday, February 17, 2007 in his 71st year. Hugo was an active coach with the Waterford Minor Hockey League for many years. Member of the Turkey Point Golf Club and also the Delhi Belgian Club. Member of St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, Waterford, Knights of Columbus, Delhi-LaSalette Council No. 5095 and 4th Degree Sacred Heart Assembly. Beloved husband of Mary Paelinck (nee: Bokesch). Loving father of Gilbert Paelinck (Sandra) of Leuven, Belgium and Suzanne Wamsley (Mike) of Port Dover, Ontario. Cherished grandfather of R.J. and Zach Wamsley. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins in both Canada and Belgium. Friends visited at the Murphy Funeral Home, Delhi on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and for Knights of Columbus Service at 6:45 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, February 21st at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Alan Dufraimont officiating. Interment in Delhi Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
