Port Dover’s mausoleum was the backdrop for a movie shoot which took about five hours to complete on Monday. At the request of the producers, Ontario Provincial Police closed Highway #6 for the duration of the shoot.
Writer/Director Matt Campagna explained that traffic noise was the biggest concern while the scenes were being shot. Birdsong seemed to be the most prominent sound in the vicinity, something the production crew said added to the scene.
While traffic noise was eliminated sound crews were still concerned about sprinkler systems and lawn mowers being operated by residents who live across the road from the site.
The filming was good for a number of local businesses including horse rentals and catering from Imaginations.
The name of the film is ‘Six Reasons Why’ billed as “a shocking new Western”, starring Colm Feore and Laurence Correa.
